What’s the craziest thing you’ve done for love?
Brought to you by Leap Year. In theaters January 8th.I guess "stupid" is the right word.. haha.. Back in college before the hubby and I moved in together, I would drive to see him. I remember driving to his parents house in the pouring rain just so I can see him. I'm glad those days are over. haha..
What are you hoping to find under the tree this year?
My husband! LOL. I say that because he's currently deployed and I'd love to have him home for Christmas.
A lot of people start decorating for the holidays before the Thanksgiving leftovers have been eaten... What about you? When are you going to start putting up your holiday decorations this year?
We actually bought our tree and also decorated it. I love this time of the year and my kids get really excited decorating and looking at the lights!
It's Week 12 of the NFL season. How's your team faring?
Of course being from San Diego, I'm rooting for the SD Chargers! They wooped Kansas City 43-14!!!
I got up early today to work on a lot of projects that I have to finish, such as my parent's website - www.meetingyourcleaningneeds.com because they have their own business and I have to promote it
I also found this very interesting article on Art Bistro. I think it's very controversial because how I see it, I do understand that he did take another photographer aka another's artists photo; however, he modified artistically with his style to create the HOPE poster. If he would have just taken the original document and put it as is, then it would be plagiarized. I'm sure other artists out there would agree that sometimes we ALL take images for reference, I know I try not to copy anything at all and come up with my own ideas, but there is times when I will reference certain images; however, I know how to give credit where it's due.
Obama ‘Hope’ Artist Controversy Deepens

New York, NY – Shepard Fairey has a new legal team and new questions he must answer.
The street artist known for his Barack Obama “HOPE” image will be permitted to switch attorneys in his copyright fight against The Associated Press, a federal judge ruled Tuesday. Fairey’s previous lawyers had sought to withdraw from the case after Fairey contended he had erred about which AP photo he used as the basis for “HOPE” and then tried to destroy evidence of what he claimed was his mistake.
The AP had asked U.S. District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein to deny the switch, saying that Fairey’s attorneys had “unique knowledge” about Fairey’s actions and that the change would cause “undue delay” and bring additional expenses for the not-for-profit news organization.

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” Hellerstein said, referring to the fabrication of evidence. He called Fairey’s acknowledged wrongdoing a “serious transgression,” but also said he wanted “this case to be decided on the merits.”
Fairey had claimed his “HOPE” image, seen throughout last year’s campaign, was based on a 2006 photo of Obama seated next to actor George Clooney at a press event in Washington. Fairey now says he used a solo, close-up shot of Obama, as the AP had asserted.

Fairey sued the news cooperative in February, arguing that he had so transformed his source material that he was protected by “fair use” guidelines. The AP countersued in March, saying Fairey had violated copyright laws.
The photos in question were taken by Mannie Garcia, on assignment for the AP. Garcia filed his own lawsuit in July, claiming he owned the copyright.
The AP’s attorneys said Hellerstein granted their request to question Fairey and his original attorneys about why he changed his story.
It seems like a lot of this story is based on opinion and I do wish him the best as far as winning his case. I think enough editing on his part to be able to claim the fair use guidelines. It seriously feels like I've spent the entire morning working since it's almost 12pm. Geez, I can't believe how fast time goes and how many things I still gotta do before my day off is over. Been working a lot though and I'm almost done with the entire website. Yay me.
I drank coffee today and it has me super super hyper, I feel like I can beat the world. haha. I just finished my work with one of my clients, ONE 55 WATER, A CITY CAFE, and I'm so blessed that I met them and that I had the opportunity to work with them. They're really nice. They're at 155 Water Street in Henderson, Las Vegas if you want to visit them. Their grand opening will be very soon and that place is going to be fabulous!!
What a beautiful day today has been. It has been full of love and understanding. I love being happy and that's one of my goals. I just want to be happy for many years to come.
IF you want to contact me regarding design work, you can do so by emailing me at candyv@gmail.com and I'll be happy to help you out.
I'm attending IADT and I want to gain as much as hands-on experience as I can; that way I can get my portfolio filled with great pieces when I graduate.
Have a good night everyone!!
Which do you prefer? City life or country living?
City! Only because I'm so used to it. I love nature, but I probably couldn't stand be surrounded by it 24/7.
